Work is now underway at Lynebeg in the Scottish Highlands to support local ecology as engineers prepare for the construction of a new pond as part of advance works for the A9 Dualling: Tomatin to Moy project.

Despite the impact of Strom Arwen, Network Rail has successfully demolished and replaced the bridge over the railway at Lynebeg, south of Inverness on the Highland Mainline between Perth and Inverness. Its part of supporting work ahead of the dualling of the A9 between Tomatin and Moy.

Video footage showing the first major structure to be constructed as part of the A9 Dualling: Tomatin to Moy project has been released by Network Rail, on behalf of Transport Scotland.

The time lapse footage reveals the demolition of the original 1884 masonry arch rail bridge at Lynebeg, near Inverness, followed by the successful installation of the new structure during a 78 hour possession of the Highland Mainline.

Work is underway at Lynebeg in the Scottish Highlands as Network Rail engineers prepare for the reconstruction of the rail bridge near Moy as part of advance works for the A9 Dualling: Tomatin to Moy project.
