The £15bn Metrolink expansion programme which tripled the size of Greater Manchesters light rail network has had a major impact on the region, according to research undertaken by Transport for Greater Manchester.

Manchester's civic leaders have broken ground on the £350 million Trafford Park line.
The 5.5 km line will connect the Metrolink network to the 'intu Trafford Centre' and Manchester United's home ground, Old Trafford.
Due to open in 2020/21, the line will branch off from the existing Pomona stop.
