Scotland's Railway fell silent as memorial services took place around the country at 11am on Armistice Day, today (Thursday, 11 November).
The services marked the day World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. An announcement was made at stations just before 11am and ScotRail and Network Rail invited customers to observe a two-minute silence. Commemorative wreaths were laid at the war memorials at Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley stations. (Permalink) Armistice Day Network Rail ScotRail |
