Passengers rescued from a flood-hit train became stuck near the scene on a second train that came to rescue them.
The 14:34 London to Nottingham service on Thursday was stopped due to a landslip near Corby, Northamptonshire.
About 500 passengers spent up to eight hours stuck on the trains before they were finally rescued.

A new second train track between two Northamptonshire towns is to be tested after years of upgrade work.

The work between Corby and Kettering is part of biggest upgrade of the Midland Main Line since it opened in 1870. Before 2009, Corby had no station.

The second track will allow seven trains an hour to run in each direction, Network Rail said.

The final testing of the seven mile (11km) stretch will take place 17-25 February.

Work has started on a multi-million pound project to lay a second railway track linking Kettering and Corby in Northamptonshire.
A new station opened in Corby in 2009, ending its status as the biggest town in Britain without a rail connection.
Its single track has limited service development while passenger demand has grown rapidly, Network Rail said.
Seven miles of new second track are now being laid to enable seven trains an hour in each direction by 2018.

Network Rail hopes restoring a second track on a line in Northamptonshire will lead to a boost in train services.
The second track on the line between Corby and Kettering was removed in 1986 when traffic decreased with the closure of steelmaking in the town.
Five years ago, Corby rail station was reopened and passenger services grew.

Another major hurdle has been cleared in the effort to give Corby the station it needs and deserves. Network Rail has appointed Dean and Dyball to construct the new station and they are starting work today. Corby has been until now the largest town in Britain without a railway station. (Railscot note : this claim is also made by several other towns including Leigh, Gosport, Dudley and Washington.)
