This closed branch ran from Lancaster south by the Estuary of the River Lune to Glasson Dock. It opened was opened by the London and North Western Railway in 1883, closed to passengers in 1930 and completely in 1964. In Lancaster the line left the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway running north, turning to the west and then to the south to Conder Green where it turned west to reach Glasson Dock. There was a private station, Ashton Hall [Private], for Lord Ashton's house. Ashton Hall is a third of a mile to the east.
