This is an island platform station which was opened in 1960 during the electrification of the North Clyde lines.
To the west side of the line is the remains of the reversing spur which gave access to Partickhill Goods [CR] (and a shortcut to Dawsholm Shed) and to the west side the site of the Whiteinch Loop Sidings.
The station replaced the original Hyndland [1st] station, that site becoming Hyndland Depot for EMUs.
Hyndland Panel Box was south of the station on the west side of the line.
