Scotrail has been instructed to review Fife Circle services following demand for 'much-needed improvements'. Annabelle Ewing, SNP MSP for the Cowdenbeath constituency, which includes Rosyth, Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay, hopes that 'lessons are learned from current performance' during the next phase of the operator's 'Fit for the Future' scheme.

Community projects across Scotland's Railway have benefited from almost £4million of investment in recent years. Among those to receive a funding boost was Stow Station House on the Borders Railway. The new Shibumi Karate Club Training Station at Saltcoats also benefited from funding.

A lorry colliding with a railway bridge near Aberdour caused delays and diversions on the Fife Circle.

ScotRail has recognised community rail's unsung heroes at its annual ScotRail in the Community Awards.
The awards thank and celebrate the hard-working volunteers across Scotland's Railway, recognising their contribution to the wider local community and railway. Categories up for grabs this year included Adopt a Station of the Year, Community Involvement Champion, Station Adopter of the Year, Community Volunteer of the Year and Outstanding Contribution. With restrictions on people attending live indoor events still in place, this years awards ceremony took place online, hosted by ScotRail's community development manager, Tracy Stephenson.
