Rail passengers on the Far North Line were facing disruption this morning after services were terminated mid journey. The 6.19am Wick to Inverness train terminated at Lairg and the 7am Inverness to Wick service was suspended at Tain due to 'a safety inspection of the track'.

Community projects across Scotland's Railway have benefited from almost £4million of investment in recent years. Among those to receive a funding boost was Stow Station House on the Borders Railway. The new Shibumi Karate Club Training Station at Saltcoats also benefited from funding.

Commitment to decarbonise passenger rail services by 2035. Plans to decarbonise Scotland's rail passenger services by 2035 have been launched by Transport Secretary Michael Matheson today.
