The UK Government is undertaking a nationwide accessibility audit of its railway network, as it looks to support disabled travellers returning to public transport. Consultants from Atkins have so far completed 1,000 such audits across the country.

We're discussing disability awareness and equality training that forms an integral part of the requirements set out in the Office of Rail and Roads Accessible Travel Policy Guidance. In this year alone, tens of thousands of railway staff have undertaken the training that is designed to help with understanding disabled peoples needs, allowing staff to communicate more effectively with disabled passengers, to understand the challenges they may face when travelling and to refresh their knowledge and skills to provide any assistance needed.
