RAGES were invited to attend the 9th year of Railfuture's Rail User Group (RUG) awards on 15th July 2023.
Attending on behalf of RAGES were Barrie Forrest BEM, chairperson, Tom Dickson, vice-chairperson and Glenn Moulding, committee member. Barrie and Tom received the award on behalf of RAGES. Tom gave a short presentation to the audience which consisted of how RAGES got started, their successes and future ambitions for a new station for Haddington. A campaign for a railway station to return to East Lothian is gathering pace. Calls have repeatedly been made for a station to service Haddington and the surrounding villages. Now a steering group has been launched in a bid for passengers to step onto a train in Haddington for the first time since 1949.

A person moving to Haddington got in touch with the towns community council to check when a railway station would be in place. The unusual question was highlighted during the groups most recent meeting.

Retired advocate Andrew Hajducki QC has passed away. Dean of Faculty, Roddy Dunlop QC, extended his condolences to Mr Hajducki's family and his many friends, saying: Andrew was for many years a leading practitioner, especially (but not solely) in the field of personal injury. His work on civil jury trials is oft-cited and highly respected. ... He wrote seminal textbooks on licensing law and civil jury trials, and co-authored a book featuring the Lauder Light Railway.
