A derailed train which blocked the West Coast Main Line between England and Scotland has been put back on the rails, National Rail has said. The engineering train came off the track near Carnforth, Lancashire, at 08:20 BST, affecting Northern Rail, TransPennine Express and Virgin Trains. Some services were cancelled and a replacement bus service was provided but trains are now running. Some continuing delays were predicted as train services resumed. The National Rail Enquiries website said Virgin Trains passengers travelling to/from Glasgow Central/Edinburgh could use Sunday tickets on services running on Monday.
