Local Green MSP Ross Greer has secured a major breakthrough in his campaign to have the Milngavie rail line redualled.

Under-fire ScotRail have hit their worst performance levels since Dutch firm Abellio took over running the franchise.
The latest figures the poorest in more than a decade show one in five services failed to arrive on time. At the two worst-performing stations, Largs and Milngavie, three-quarters of trains were late. Under the franchise agreement, on time is defined as being less than five minutes late. Passengers we spoke to described the reliability of services as a joke. The campaign for action on the Milngavie rail line has been given new traction after an SNP-Green deal in the Scottish budget. A £2 million feasibility fund for rail improvement projects was a key demand made by Green MSPs in exchange for supporting the budget vote at Holyrood last week. It is hoped the funding will support calls to redual the Westerton to Milngavie line and lead to the opening of the long-proposed Allander station between Milngavie and Hillfoot.
