Trains will be affected August 20 and 21. Trains that usually run between Dalmuir / Milngavie and Whifflet / Motherwell will be amended to run between Dalmuir / Milngavie and Rutherglen only on both August 20 and August 21.

Network Rail will shortly begin a programme of work at Milngavie station to extend the platforms in an investment of over £5 millio nthat aims to deliver greater operational flexibility on the line.
Both platforms at the station will be extended from 141m each in length to 205m by reintroducing 39m of unused platform and adding 25m of new platform at the south side of the station. Milngavie station will receive a £5m investment to help with performance and allow trains to run on time. Network Rail say they will carry out a 5-month programme with minimal disruption, closing only in the weekends of late Autumn. Improvements will see the length of both platforms increase from 141m to 205m.

Under-fire ScotRail have hit their worst performance levels since Dutch firm Abellio took over running the franchise.
The latest figures the poorest in more than a decade show one in five services failed to arrive on time. At the two worst-performing stations, Largs and Milngavie, three-quarters of trains were late. Under the franchise agreement, on time is defined as being less than five minutes late. Passengers we spoke to described the reliability of services as a joke. Scotrail has launched the first two new trains which will run on cross-Glasgow services.
The refurbished trains, which will operate from Glasgow Central Low Level and will have wifi from next month, have been leased as part of a £475million train improvement programme. They will have better lighting, extra cycle space and at-seat power sockets. Seven revamped trains will run at a rate of one every few weeks between now and October on routes between Milngavie/Dalmuir and Motherwell/Larkhall/Cumbernauld via Glasgow Central Low Level. Milngavie's railway heritage is being celebrated with a new poster at the
town's station. The poster features photographs of railway staff, trains, and facilities at Milngavie station between 1920 and 1960. ScotRail has worked with Milngavie in Bloom, East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust, the James F.
