Northern takes delivery of two ScotRail Class 170s [RTM]

Date: 12/03/2018

A duo of ScotRail Class 170 trains have arrived at Northerns Neville Hill depot near Leeds.

The trains, which previously provided services north of the border, will undergo a full refurbishment, with new features including power sockets and air conditioning.

Training on the new stock, which will provide services between York Harrogate and Leeds from May, is expected to start shortly on a route between Holbeck, near Leeds, and Nottingham.

The train operator said that the delivery of the trains is another milestone in its programme of train upgrades, as it invests millions in improving its existing fleet and phasing out its older Pacer style trains.
