Holme Tunnel repairs close line for four months [BBC News]

A railway line in West Yorkshire is to be closed for four months to repair a tunnel which has been damaged by shifting land. Network Rail said Holme Tunnel, between Burnley and Hebden Bridge on the York-Blackpool line, would be closed until March. [From Richard Buckby]

Looking up the bank towards Copy Pit summit from Burnley Manchester Road. On a dull and wet evening in June 2012, unit 158872 calls at Hebden Bridge with a service from Leeds to Manchester Victoria. The station retains many original features and, if it wasn't for the Class 158 and PIS displays, the photograph could well have been taken 50+ years ago.
