14 - 18 July. ScotRail have published their arrangements for the Open Championship on their website. Some notes from ScotRail:
"ScotRail considered concerns about taxis covering the Red Star entrance at Glasgow Central. To resolve this and to manage the numbers of cars in and out and to ensure customers are well looked after, BTP and Network Rail are
providing staff specifically for this area. Customers requiring assistance and who have booked have been contacted by all of the TOC's involved. We have also sent out information to all stations, it is on our website and
in our Press Release. We are currently in negotiation with the Council and AA re looking at alternative signage for this area.
"The Glasgow Central lift will be working and has been passed for public use. Customers will come out at Platform 1, which will allow the majority of customers , mainly GNER and Virgin to be closer to trains.
"This arrangement is in place from 06 30 until 11 30, which will accommodate most of the Open Golf traffic.
"Whilst Troon Station was in a reasonable state the Open Championship gave us an opportunity to undertake work as we will see an increase in revenue and have secured some advertising revenue also. This allowed us to ensure Troon Station is at its best for the biggest Golf tournament that Scotland sees."
